Maxine's story

Tags: jog Belfast couch to 5k Victoria Park parkrun

I joined Jog Belfast because I was really unfit, for example, I was out of breath if I ran upstairs. I was never able to run , I would get pains in my calfs and have to stop. I signed up for the Victoria Park group.

The way they teach you to run makes it fun and it's great. I met lots of new people and made new friends.

It definitely beats sitting in the house!

I plan to keep my new hobby going, I still can't get over the fact that I ran 5k at parkrun. If I can do it then anyone can!

As my friend said to me the other day, ' you're the girl that drives to your mums in the next street, and now you're running!'

Thanks to all involved, it's just fantastic and all I would say to anyone thinking about it is to just do it, you won't regret it!
